Excellent tutorial, especially the advice in re the CMYK and the 300DPI min. One thing I find helps immensely with GIMP print quality is the use of "websafe" HEX colors. They generally have an exact CMYK conversion.

Gimp doesn't respond to 4000 pixels,keeps freezing

If the image is too big for your computer to handle the only I can suggest is upgrading your computer.

Thank You for replying,but I would have thought Win7,I5 8gb rams is plenty.
