The mc-anim scripts are my personal python scripts to speed up the operations, not really necessary.

That's a real nice effect :bigthup . I went through the official YT tutorials from 0.2 to 0.6 couple years ago, the ones Grue has posted.
Very powerful animator once you learn the tags. I'll try this for sure, thanks!

Except that your Gimp is Italian, it's hard to follow the steps. And you have written custom pythons under that MCan menu I suppose.

I haven't tried this plugin, but I have to think it would be much easier and faster to do it in a video editor that supports simple pan/zoom. Many free ones do, such as Kdenlive (Linux) or Aviutl (Windows). Then it's a simple matter of exporting to animated gif, or use ffmpeg to encode video into animated gif.

I just did this one in about a minute...

True, but video editors have only simple image processing effects, not the full power of gimp/gmic effects.

Not a problem split image to frames (gap) in gimp, then convert all xcf in PNG and compress a video with ffmpeg.
Anyway this is gimp forum, so i think the point is to do thinks with gimp. :)

Otherwise Premiere+Aftereffect is sure most powerfull than gimp or kdenlive...
:)

That's a good observation and I also agree with telperion

We are like the United Nations of graphic design here, We are often pushing the boundaries for better results. I've been using linux for 20 years and have adapted to the 'share house' mentality. I can't remember why I went from Red Hat to Mandrake to Ubuntu but now I wonder why Ubuntu libs are in a different place to Debian libs and everybody else's? At least my systems are not hijacked for 400 bitcoin :hehe
But we all know what happens in Linux 'dependency hell'. Some of us go there thru choice :)

It's good having friends all over the World and I like to give a bit back. I emailed the lead developer of gimp-gap for some help.
Not only are some of these guys in another world mentally but they often speak a different language to the people on their own projects.

I can only speak english but I feel fortunate a lot of you guys from the EU also speak English. You make us Aussies and Americans lazy we don't have to learn another language. But hey! we have to deal with wide open spaces inhibited by grizzly bears and tiger snakes. :gimp
