Well, here's a quick run thru of how I did the metallic text. Maybe someone finds it helpful.

This is a very nice tutorial. I did mine with bronze instead of copper but I tried copper, blue steel and gold while I was at it. I debated about the second layer at multiply mode but went ahead and did it.

I didn't have as good of luck with smaller sizing. The bevel needs to be adjusted more than I adjusted it. I made the width 20 and the depth 15. Venus Rising font size is 80.

They both look good O. :)
The bottom one looks like it has a reflection in it.

Thanks, Rod.

Although it doesn't show it, the top one is much larger than the image in here. Click on it to see it full sized.

I used the tutorial settings. I don't think I'd ever have a need for an image that large.

I make them large then scale them down to a more convenient size after. Seems to retain the quality better. I also blow-up many of my images and the quality remains.

What version do you have of G"MIC? Do you have Tom Keil's plug-ins? When you open GMIC, look at the top and it will tell you what version you have.

You have to have GMIC to use those filters. You will have to download and install it. Here is a link. Make sure you download latest version for Windows.
G'MIC

I would download this one. gmic_gimp_1.5.0.2_win32.exe

Do you have Tom Keil's name on the list? That is where the metal plug-in is.

Open your GMIC click about > Add Additional filters > Add Tom Keil's Filter set. After that is done, click refresh. Those are the two little curved arrows. You should now have the metal plug-ins. Also make you you have the box checked beside the internet.
