There is a nice tutorial on making miniplanets here.
What about animated miniplanets? I used MathMap Composer and different combinations of elements. It became obvious you can make all sorts of weird little planets. I even made a square miniplanet.

These are the Composer elements used in the animations above. 'StereoNdeG' is the miniplanet element, 'rotate_time' is a handy utility by Nevitt that can rotate many MathMap elements. 'Panini' makes the hour glass shape. Adding waves to a miniplanet is just one of many possible effects.

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

Those are very clever. Like them a lot. Last one is so fluid that it reminds me of a lava lamp.

Thanks Issabella for liking my miniplanets.
I'm glad you like them Pat. I try to think outside of the square.
I found a great tut on making 'little planets' that uses polar coordinates not Mathmap. here.

He shows the best way of merging the Left and Right hand sides of a graphic. I'm lazy and use mirror images but I will use his method as well.
There is almost nothing on animated miniplanets but there will be some in my next video :)
