Animated Scrolling Marquee 3d

A 3d scrolling marquee effect:



The challenge here was how could I take a basic concept, like text scrolling across the screen and divide it and angle part of the scrolling text to give it a more 3d feel.

Took about four hours to set up and put together. It is composed of a lot of layers, and given it's complexity, I used GAP. At 180 frames and 9 or 10 layers per frame, I would not want to do this manually.

Next time, I would want to accentuate the 3d effect even more, possibly by using the perspective tool. This time, Map Object was just used to give the slanted part of the marquee a 60 degree angle from the flat side.

There are still some issues to be worked out on this, namely the overall image perspective needs improved to enhance the intended 3d effect. Also, I would have liked to add a blur effect to the lighting, just to give it a little more realism.
