I just threw this together real quick to see what happens if the start and end path were about as different as possible. Maybe this will give somebody an idea for something more interesting.

The start path is a closed loop with all the points in a straight line. The script doesn't like that much when it comes time to fill it. So it creates a solid black layer. I just deleted that and used the first unfolded layer as the start layer of the gif. The script was just set to fill and multiple layers. Very little effort on my part other than creating the paths in the first place.

Of course, if you lay out the points differently on the start path it will "unfold" differently. I just went left to right placing points and stopped when I got the right number. Then I closed the path and ran the scripts.

I actually got the idea the first time I used the script. My paths had identical shapes but different starting points. So the resulting "extrusion" was wonky. I thought that could be neat to play with. Just hadn't got around to it til now.
