The aim was rotating runes around a transparent sphere.

I used a Skinnyhouse font pack (Jupiter Ascending), picked and rotated them at random then put them around a transparent sphere with mathmap.

Spinning Globe plugin works as well for this. It's what I used to make this a few years back.

Thanks Wallace and I agree with you about racer-x's gif. It's very good.
racer i recon you had to think long and hard how to get the reverse text and even the front text onto the endless ribbon :)

Mine is fairly straight forward the reverse runes are just the front ones reversed.
Realized G'MIC fish eye applied to all front layers slightly enlarges what comes into the field of view. But put the back in first, it's just smaller and darker than the front.

Really cool; racer-x's version is fantastic, too. :)

Noice but why do they lose top and bottom when they go round the back?

Tas_mania, Looking good. Not sure if some of the thin bits at the bottom disappear round the back?

Racer-x, Nice work, I also like the one you made on the Spinning coin thread so I gave it a try too :puzzled

I'm glad you asked. It's because I'm making video content not gifs. This is what one frame looks like at my end.

Converting to webp replaces the alpha back with neutral.

I used a 'transparent sphere' because I want to explore elements that are not visible yet have an effect. Unsurprisingly, nobody else is interested in that idea :) I'm also exploring subliminal messaging in video because I'm really pushing back against media manipulation in my life.

Check my last video to see what I'm doing with animated orbs. I was surprised at how the video process throws away so much of the art work. With fade-ins and outs and the momentum of a video clip you are mostly riding an emotion than a graphical idea.

I'm currently reading Question 7 by Richard Flanagan. He's Tasmanian and his book helped me understand what this place is about. We are surrounded by 40,000 years of history yet it's all invisible. The original people were 'disappeared' but lets just say the false narrative has been exposed :)
But there are so many new false narratives and the effects are devastating.

Flanagans father was a slave on the Burma railway in WW2. They took him to Japan to work in a coal mine and he expected to die during the following winter. Incredibly he was saved by the Hiroshima atom bomb that killed one hundred thousand people yet saved Flanagan's father. Richard has spent his entire life coming to terms with that.

Hi teapot. Sorry but no santas in my art. I'm mostly dealing with rage. In my world a department store promo makes no sense at all.
I have seen every aspect of life degraded in the time I have been here. But don't take my word for it :)
