Yes, it is intended to be online permanently.

2ton : You cannot move your preview image for now on. Maybe in the future :p

Very cool, I had to give it a go. This looks a bit like Australia.

Sébastien, my colleague, has already done some nice improvements to the web site :

- Now you can select different positions of the preview window, when you are in a 'local' view.
- You can also do pipelines, since one rendered result can be used as a new input for another filter.
- Image dimension limitation has been set to 1280 instead of 1024.

Thank you very much David and Sébastien!
Would it be possible to add to the website some kind of online tests for what is mentioned in this thread?:
Techniques to normalize(unify) colors and brightness on monitors

Looks really good! I was playing around with it and I got really distracted from what I was supposed to be doing. Nothing like wasting time! :hi5

I think G'MIC online is down. I can't get it to upload my image and the Tiger logo is not in it either.

Try to do a real 'refresh' (CTRL + SHIFT + R on Chrome). The site has been updated recently, and maybe there are some old stuffs remaining in your cache.
I'm just on it, and it works without problems.

That worked! I cleared my cache first, but the Ctrl + Shift + R worked great (in Firefox).

Argh, every picture I upload and use filters on, seems to be too big. The edges go out of the preview window so I can only see what it looks like in the middle of the pic. sometimes the effects I want need to be seen in different parts of the pic. Is there anyway to resize the pic in the window so I can see it all?

Every picture I try to upload says the image is not mine. What do I do about that? I've tried images I created to photos I have taken, but get the same result every time.

Hi nixnine, thanks for that report.
We have indeed a (light) protection to limit the access of processed images to the person (IP actually) who has uploaded the original image only. Do you have an IPv6 connection ?
I will report this problem to my colleague. Any details about your configuration is welcome ! (OS, web browser, etc...)

I am impressed how this "online" release works. But i have notice one thing. HardSketch now recognize colors wich is great. Maybe a Stauration button would be a good addition for both releases. gimp native and online. Anyway you Rocks.

I tried to keep the feeling for myself but at soon i saw gmic online i could not avoid to think that if could work online, it should work also if locally installed..

and if so is really close to be a good graphic wrapper for the gmic command line...well miss the additional filters a few more input/output option but for the rest look really a good starting point

and about the question : what the need for a gmic graphic wrapper when there is a already excellent plugin ?

the answer is simple, the plugin is limited by gmic to work at 8 bit, while a gmic could not only work at 16bit but is ready even for 32 bit

I've seen that question asked before PC, there are good reasons why it's not been done (i.e. why bother when you have gimp already :cool ) and the command line gmic is powerful. And yet... it could be useful for testing filter code, plus batch processing could be a lot easier with a GUI.
There is a program already called zoomfx that does batch but not with custom filters, plus I have no idea if it's still being worked on.

I promise nothing but I have been playing with compiling gmic so I *might* (and that's a big might  ) produce something like that in future. Disclaimer: I'm extremely lazy a lot of the time so don't hold your breath!
