I really like the one with the polygonal surface. It looks like it was sculpted out of multi-colored stone.

the harder thing was guess what type of pattern used, i was tempted to use too big and weird as in the other 2 and that doesn't work well

They have a Vorlon look to them, which I always liked. 'Vorlon' is a term from the Babylon V series for anyone who wondered what that meant.

Sweet! Sweet! Sweet! I noticed that mine didn't have an FOV setting, so I clicked on the "Refresh" button, and it added FOV, X-Light, Y-Light, Z-Light, Specularity and Shininess! This is getting sweeter by the minute!!!

Wow; excellent results. The preset's definitely the keeper. Cool that G'MIC really does give 3D capability to the GIMP. PS has this too, but you have to pay even bigger bucks to get it (I refuse too; may soon get the CS5 upgrade though). I keep PS for the rare occasion when it can do something easier then GIMP (and to process my RAW files). I do hope GIMP gets 16-bit support soon. :)

I created a fountain/bird bath and by blending patterns and gradients, I got a bunch of images. Here are a couple.

I'm assuming that's with an update of G'MIC?

I have FOV but not the light settings.

When you hit the 'Refresh' button, it updates the plugins. If you try it, I'm sure you'll like it!

I trust you mean Filters > Script-Fu > Refresh Scripts. It doesn't change a thing for me. I still have no light settings.

No; G'MIC has a built in refresh button (sort of obscure). Just click it (have to be online of course) and it will update all the built in presets if an update exists. :)

I like the way the new Lathe option works. I have made some pretty cool looking objects. But I receive an error at times. (See attached image.) Am I setting something too high? Is there a limit on the size of the image? Can someone offer some advice on this error?

I get that from time to time, especially when I set the precision over 0.5

I agree; I mean, look at the crappy previews you get with PS filters (not to mention ones that won't even work). lol

Yes, one of the first things i do whenever i open C'MIC is push that little button to see what surprises are in store. There always seems to be a new addition each time.David really outdoes himself with this plug-in suite.
