Are you using windows or Linux. In Linux you get one file and it goes into my plug-ins. In windows I believe there are two, I think one is a py, the other is an exe I think. they go in you plug in folder.

I have Windows 32.

I don't use windows anymore so I forget where they go but I do still have it on my other drive. I could boot out of here and go look if you want. Someone might have your answer before I get back.
I went to windows and the lib files are in your name user files > plug-ins
The GMIC.exe file is in C:\Program Files (x86) Gimp 2.8.x\gmic.exe\bin The curl.exe file is in your name .gimp-2.8.x plug-ins

Molly there is no single answer to this.

It will depend on where he downloads the GMIC from (ensuring he gets the correct 32 bit or 64 bit version) and whether that download contains a single exe installer that will do all the work
or
whether the site just contains various files. If the latter there is usually a readme file that will explain where to put what file.

Then of course depending on what flavour (eg Partha's build) of Gimp he is running, he may have to uninstall the old GMIC version first via the control panel - programs features - add/remove programs

More info is required to give the answer.

I got the 32 bit version from the site Molly posted. There is no installer, and no readme file. Will this work in 2.6 to begin with?
