Ok excited.. :) I was pretty sure I had the right one because I only downloaded that file from a list of ones. :) Then I did the refresh G'MIC suggestion, of course I had to open it to find it. WOOhooo!!! There was the stained glass affect. :) Thanks everyone.

I found a problem... I can't get this to work on Text D:
"Willy"
Size: 128
Color:603551
Settings:
Edges: 44.16
Shading: 0.11
Yes to thin seperaters
No to equalize

it keeps turning the text black, can someone see if they can get it to work?

With your settings, it makes the text pink with kind of dark shadowy places on it. Even if I change the Edges setting and see a different preview I get pink with dark, blurred areas on it.

Here are my results with 68.16, Shadows still 0.11 and Merge set to Skip Merging.

I had to add noise to my text, RGB @ 20.

Then used your settings for stained glass. But I used a lighter layer mode, Burn was too dark.

Hmm... none of them are looking like what I was getting in preview...

I am using Stained Glass, if that isn't what you guys are using... without Photocomix's mod

@ Willy

I used the Stained Glass filter.

@ PhotoComix

The Rorschach filter has been updated and the Stained Glass filter. Even though you don't get the same Rorschach pattern you see in the Preview, it now comes out colored in the Stained Glass filter in G'MIC, but not with your render, PC. Rorschach filter now resides in Patterns in gmic.

Well that is really odd... how do we get differing things... I added nothing but that Filter...

Well this is what I want the text for, gonna be some sort of sig...

If I use the regular Stained Glass filter, regardless of what the edge setting is set to, it turns out the same pattern, which isn't what I think you want. If I use PC's mod, regardless of settings, it turns black, unless I add some sort of disturbance to the text (be it noise, blur, whatever). Using a solid color results in black text. Once disturbance is added, then it does a better job (on both filters).

I just downloaded the latest G'MIC and will definitely be playing with the new filters on my Win 7 machine.

PC, I don't think Ghedaffi will be going anywhere soon. His compound has been hit and heavily damaged so he is probably hinding in a hole in the ground the way Sadaam hid for so long. I hope they get him and string him up by the jewels.......

I liked the image. Turned out nice. But I don't think Sans text is a match for it. Just my opinion. :)

Willy, for adding mods to G'MIC read this:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=978&hilit=g%27mic+tutorial

It also works the same for Windows Vista, the only difference is, the location of your .gmic definition file, which I believe is in AppData folder under your username?

Anyway, read the entire 6 - 7 pages to get an understanding of how it works, this covers ALL OS systems. Just a matter of finding where to leave your new .gmic file with the added mod.

That file is typed as:

.gmic_def.1483 (this is the definition file for the current release of G'MIC) Once you find its location, that is where you create a blank .gmic file (no extension) and add the mod PC left, into the text file, save it, re-open G'MIC.
