Hi folks !

I'm happy to announce another stable release (numbered 1.5.8.6) of the G'MIC framework.
The full Changelog can be found here : https://www.flickr.com/groups/gmic/disc ... 897164453/
The source package and binaries for Windows are already available, Linux binaries are on the way.

Maybe some words about this new release, especially for the users of the G'MIC plug-in for GIMP :

- Updating your filters should be faster with this release. Update files are now stored in a compressed format on the Sourceforge server, so they are 5x smaller than with the previous versions of the plug-in. So, if you always found that updating your G'MIC filters was too slow, go update ! :bigthup
- Now, the number of available filters displayed in the plug-in does not take anymore into account the filters listed in the Testing/ category. But don't worry, there are no filters that have been removed, compared to the previous versions !

Well, that was the most important things to say. I strongly suggest you update this time.
Oh, and here is the link of the project page : http://gmic.sourceforge.net

Happy Gimping and happy G'MICing ! :paint

David.

GIMP version: 2.8.10
OS: Windows XP
I installed G'MIC 1.5.8.6 for Windows 32 bits. I put the files _gmic, gmic.exe and gmic_gimp.exe in the plugins folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Master\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins).
I start Gimp. I call G'MIC filter. It opens without problem: version 1.4.8.6. I had 390 filters. I refresh the filters from internet, but I have still 390 filters. Before I had 690 filters.
What can I do?

You still have 600+ filters, but those in Testing/ are not counted.

I guess maybe there were no no filters added. Mine is at 390 before and after refreshing.
690 seems like an awfully lot.

Thanks, I downloaded it, now how do I install it? I'm using windows 7 64 bit. Do I just install the entire GMIC-GIMP-PLUGIN-64Bit-WIN folder to my .gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder or do I only install parts of what comes in the folder?

EDIT: Nevermind, I installed it. :)

I also have 390 filters. Are there really 690 filters? That is a lot.

What I was trying to say was that before installing the 1.5.8.6 version G'MIC I had about 690 filters in the old version 1.5.8.1 and now I have only 390 G'MIC filters. I forgot that the filters in testing are not counted in the new version.
What should I do with the other files that come with version 1.5.8.6, ie "jpeg62.dll, libfftw3-3.dll, libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll, libpng3.dll, libpthread-2.dll, libstdc++-6.dll, libtiff3.dll, zlib1.dll"? These files has been following the new version in the zip file.

I just downloaded it and installed the entire GMIC-GIMP-PLUGIN-64Bit-WIN folder to my .gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder. Then I restarted gimp and it showed up.
