Hi there,

I've finally managed to add my recent code dedicated to the colorization of B&W images (part. linearts) into the G'MIC plug-in for GIMP.
Here is a video that shows how it it integrated into GIMP :

www.youtube.com Video from : www.youtube.com

If you want to test it, please update your plug-in binaries with one of the file available at : https://sourceforge.net/projects/gmic/files/beta/

There are still some bugs remaining (this is a beta version!), but it should be already quite fun to use :)

If you have any feedback, please share on this thread.

Ah, it's so cool David!
With color pad and palette window, colors layer option, etc. it seems to be a very accomplished
and carefully thought through tool. Thank you!

Oops! Got an error message. Don't know whether it's on my end or on yours. I tried it in Gimp 2.8.6 and in 2.8.14. Picture of error message plus my settings when I tried to run the filter.

O : you need the very latest versions of the plug-in binaries (dated today!).
Otherwise, no chance to get it working.

I didn't realize this was for 1.6.0.1 beta. I was waiting for the final version.

samj has released this new beta update compiled for both 32 and 64 bit windows at http://samjcreations.blogspot.it/

I have tried it and it is indeed the latest, even though she misnamed it 1.5.6.1

Rod, Lyle,
Sorry, I've coded a new feature tonight, and accidentally push the corresponding update file on the Sourceforge server, *but* without updating the binaries first.
And of course, the 'old' binaries (from today, so, those you probably have both) don't have this feature.
I'm currently building new binary packages to fix it ASAP, but it will take some time (maybe one hour?).
Could you please try to recompile the plug-in in one hour, that should be fixed.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

David.

After reading David's entry, I reverted back too Rod despite knowing the colorize feature won't work until David's new compile is done. Hope Graechan or samj shares the compile when that time comes. :)

I used the linux 64-bit and uploaded a line art to try. I clicked apply and my screen turns opaque gray And I am unable to put the dots due to the gray screen, the line art is hidden.
This is what happens when I hit apply. I get a black screen this time.

I tried it again, put the dots on the hair with the color yellow, it filled in the whole screen, then crashed.

That won't affect the Linux version will it Graechan? I don't know if anyone else has tried it yet. Not working for me unless I am doing something wrong.
