Maybe it's me, but I haven't a clue what you're asking. :puzzled

All I know about using the 'top layer' option; the pattern goes in a top layer, in G'MIC Input / All and Output / New layer(s).

With the frame you are supposed to be able to use the top layer as the pattern or the image itself I think. That's what the wording implies. I can't get the top layer to work if two layers are used.

Wallace, Odinbc, Sallyanne thank you!
rich2005 YOU FOUND THE SOLUTION! but is really strange thing ( the top layer should be small), thanks
UPDATING
the reason of my fault was that the top layer was with alpha channel and the other without! BOTH LAYERS SHOULD BE THE SAME
the dimension of the top layer is not important

After a bit of testing with Pattern: Top layer, using one image layer and one pattern layer above (both with/without Alpha). Alpha channel seems not required for image or pattern layer unless pattern layer is smaller than image size. Use Input | All or All Visible with Preview mode | 2nd output. The other input modes give inconsistent results for example, Input | Default or Active & above (w/image active) do not work. Input | Active & below (w/pattern active) will work. The pattern layer can be image size or less (I tried a larger pattern layer than image size without success).
