I'm getting the following error message whenever I try to Use Anisotropic Smoothing with GMIC. GMIC version 1.6.0.0. GIMP version 2.8.14. Running on Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.

"Error in ./gimp_anisotropic_smoothing/*repeat/../*local/_apply_parallel_overlap4/*if/*substitute/ *** Command '-done': Not associated to a '-repeat' command within the same scope."

This error seems to only affect the smoothing filters under the "Repair" heading. Other filters seem to work fine. The error message is also visible in the preview pane

Any thoughts? I've done a reinstall of GIMP as well as downloading GMIC by itself and replacing the plugin file. Hasn't solved it.

Have you tried refreshing your filter sets? Also there is a newer version of G'MIC available and you should update as well.

Update does not help.

I have the same issue with the latest GMIC (1.6.0.4) running with GIMP 2.8.14 on Win7 64Bit... :(

I can reproduce this bug when 1) the image is short and wide 2) the amount of parallel threads is set to 4

Try to set the parallel processing option to one or two and see if that helps.

That did it, thank you!

Just for the records: Many other of the smoothening filters do show this or similar errors when executing... perhaps the same issue?

It appears to be a problem in the parallel processing command, so any filter that uses parallel processing may be affected.

Refreshing filters did nothing for me. Will try Iain's advice. Thanks!

Hi,

As Iain noticed, there was a bug in the command '-apply_parallel_overlap', appearing only for images with spatial ratio>3.
It should have been fixed now, so try updating your filters and try again, it should work.
Just let me know.

I suppose that means downloading a new GMIC?

No, you shouldn't need to download a new GMIC .. just update filters (by clicking the refresh buttton at the bottom of the filters menu in GMIC) as David said.

Ok, thank you. But just curious: How does this work without an online upgrade / download? ;)

When you click the refresh buttton at the bottom of the filters menu in GMIC, the GMIC plug-in will automatically download a complete set of the latest filter "presets" (ie. the GMIC command code for each filter) from the GMIC website (http://gmic.eu).
Make sure that "Internet" box next to the refresh button is ticked. (You do, of course, have to be on-line for this to work!)

Ah, ok, thanks. I think I have to check my firewall rules then... ;)
