Its certainly easy to get hooked on this thread! I was having some problems with the blur function, so I went and reread the instructions ... makes a difference sometimes by helping to overcome those 'seniors moments'!! Anyway here are some more attempts at hedcut/blur by colour and two with some bumping using the hedcut image, all with some tweaking of course!!

... from a photo of a wallpainting in Tasmania ...

... from a photo of one of my grevilleas ...

and another exhibit from a statues by the sea photo, a lifesize wooden carving cut from the (boring) photo background ...

I obviously need to do further learning on the 'blur by colour' topic, it confused me the first time I looked at it :( but thanks again Garry for these scripts, terrific entertainment.

Nice results Dinasset. Hopefully David will be able to automate this soon. :)

Well one small step for Dinasset, one giant step for OMG.

Lyle I think I followed your BW Stamp/convolution method (whatever that means!) using kiwi fruit not oranges and ended up with this ...

Now to try it out on some portraits; thanks for the methodology Lyle.

a new experiment with Lyle's setting
at the end added a "replace-color" to get the look of a "sanguigna"-drawing

Hi Lyle,

I've played a bit with your pipeline, and this is indeed fantastic :)
I've already added a new filter 'Black & White / Engrave' that reproduces the look of what you've done, with a small script.
I really think I can go one step further and use this as a basis for a 'image to drawing' filter. Here are the results I've got so far.
This is not fully automated yet, but this is only a matter of time.
What do you think about it ?

Definitely some good results so far David. Looking forward to what you come up with the color version. Will check out b/w engrave soon. :)
