I'm thinking that it might have something to do with the image.

Looks like G'MIC may have been unresponsive because of the website itself. Mine added a hot chocolate link. LOL

I just downloaded the linex 64 gmic yesterday, I thought it was the latest one.

Have you refreshed G'Mic?

when I open gmic in gimp, this is what is along the top...


This is my gmic screen. Even though it is still grayed out, I can't get it to paint. When I run the cursor over the place I want to paint it turns into a hand but it doesn't do anything. grrrr

That is really odd. Almost like something is missing in your user folder. I believe G'MIC no longer requires a separate file to run it's filters.

In Linux, there is only one file for plug-ins. This is the first time I have ever seen this.

Maybe if you try and install an earlier version of G'MIC that might fix the issue?
Or perhaps uninstall then reinstall the one you have?
Also, is G'MIC available on any of your repositories?

This is mine. I see that molly, Wallace and I each have a different number after G'MIC version.

This topic says "Solved" but doesn't say how it was solved. It's like a novel with the end missing.

I had to take all my .gimp folders out of gimp and reboot gimp into one from scratch and start all over. I am now in the process of putting hundreds of scripts and plug-ins in my home folder one by one and check for errors on each one, If there are errors I have to take them back out again. It is marked solved but it is going to take a very long time to fix it.

Thank you , Molly, I know how it is. I've had mystery crashes and all you can do is reinstall sometimes.
