The following G'mic sequence produces an aged Enamel paint (on the verge of cracking) type of result . I don't use it much. You might be able to figure out how I got my results.

If you copy the following text and paste into G'mic>Various>Custom_Code(Local) OVER-WRITING ALL EXISTING TEXT). Click on the plus sign to add to favorites (this will save the sequence) and apply to any image. REMOVE ALPHA on the image or it will result in a blank.

See here for examples.

On high Resolution images you get this effect. With some butchering using a brush you can add some extra detail here and there.

That is a neat effect!

Don't suppose You could tell me how to make it a permanent part of my G'MIC. (I understand Your instructions do that, but if I wanted to email to a friend how would I do it?) Could I just put it a plain text file somewhere for G"MIC to find? (Like a Gimp script/plugin)?

As You can see, I know nothing about G'MIC besides using it as an end user...

If the edges could be darkened a little, it would look like modern stained glass to. Not the good cathedral stuff mind you, but suncatcher type things.

To add it as a 'permanent' filter, in your Faves, just copy/paste the text, then add the filter as a favorite.
You can rename the filter afterwards, by double-clicking on its name (in the Faves section).
Just as in the screenshot below.

I was thinking of how real stained glass has dark borders on each edge because of the lead strips used to hold the glass chips in place.

What's the blue thing around her face?

I'm glad you like it. I have many sequences ( I change them often though).

If you run any CARTOON EFFECT script first, you will get a water color type effect. :) "LUCCA (I actually want to get another Shephard because of him.

Jazzon: If you modify the sequence to (resemble below), it might do that, I believe there is already a plug-in existing in G'mic though for that effect.

-repeat $! -l[$>]

-to_rgb
# --deform 20
-gimp_anisotropic_smoothing 60,0.16,0.63,0.6,2.35,0.8,30,2,0,1,1,0,1,24
-gimp_kuwahara 2,5,0,0,0
-gimp_anisotropic_smoothing 60,0.16,0.63,0.6,2.35,0.8,30,2,0,1,1,0,1,24
-gimp_kuwahara 2,5,0,0,0
-blend_edges 3
-gimp_novelfx 0,2,6,5,20,0,0.62,14,0,1,0.5,0.78,1.92,0,0,0,1,1,0.5,0.8,1.28,0 #2
-endl -done

Sorry I am unable to test it right now.

THANKS Ronouners, I did not know renaming was possible. I store as custom code and modify often. :hi5

Great application. Looking forward to Wednesdays 1.6.9 release. :yes

Another G'mic sequence:

When running a G'mic filter, if you set the "Output Messages" to "Verbose (Layer Name)", the settings will become the layer name and you can store these settings as a text file (copy/paste to Custom Code (local).

This is the layer name: [G'MIC] Kuwahara: -gimp_kuwahara 2,5,0,0,0
This is the portion of the layer name that you need to keep: -gimp_kuwahara 2,5,0,0,0

-repeat $! -l[$>]
#G'mic218-DreamHara
-to_rgb
-gimp_kuwahara 2,5,0,0,0
-gimp_dreamsmooth 3,1,1,0.8,0,0.8,1,24,0
# --deform 20
# -blend_edges 3
-endl -done

Thank you so much SysTemX, you are great help for many members here to create beautiful transforms. Good for you! :clap
I'm glad you to wish to have a Shephard, they are wonderful (all of them) :)

I was referring to equine image and the inverted "jesters hat" looking thing on the central animals head.

jazzon, I have just understood what you said about in baby donkeys. Being in England, we went to visit a donkey farm and they wore on their heads some insect protection stuff. The girl who was owner's daughter, explained that they could see perfectly through the net on their eyes and they were sure against insect. :)
