In general - this is a question for David.

From what I know:

- this is the most important: https://discuss.pixls.us/t/on-the-road-to-gmic-1-7-0/835/3

- probably some amendments in the code - because in my test, some filters work 10-20% faster (although it may - it's just a good compilation Samji).
