Using the fading settings of G'Mic's Sphere filter I only get half of the sphere surrounded by an "atmosphere", the other half is left plain. What do I have to do to get the fading all around the sphere as shown in the preview?

I've tried to recreate this effect and can not.
Not sure why this might be occurring.

Well that's really strange. I have the shading all around the sphere when I test it.
Could you put your image somewhere so I can try to reproduce the exact same issue ?

Guessing the image from the other post.

Linux 64 bit: Gimp 2.9.3

just in case, a compile of gmic for 2.9 1.7.2 as of 10 minutes ago.

using settings from screenshot.

seems ok here

I would suggest using the regular (2.8) linux gmic which works fine in Gimp 2.9

Strange - works now... didn't change anything... except restarting of Gimp... Now the result is ok but the preview has a hole in the middle ;) ...
