I know this is probably a stupid question, but, can I use G'MIC on Windows 2000 ? and what is it for anyway, a plug-in thing ?

Yeah it is a Plug-in thing... I honestly don't know how to describe it.

And why are you using Windows 2000? And I have no idea if it would work

Yes it will run on Windows 2000.
More Info - http://gmic.sourceforge.net/
Just download the executable and install into your user/gimp-2.6/plug-ins folder (G'MIC) will probably set that as default anyway.Restart Gimp.It will be found under Filters/G"MIC.
G'MIC stands for GREYC's Magic Image Converter and has currently 288 filters available within it. :)
It's a very nice addition to anyones Gimp install.

Welcome to Gimp Chat by the way Diane!

This has me wondering though, does she have enough RAM to help the plug-in function in the capacity she needs it to?

I'm a bit skeptical it will run as smoothly for her as it does with anyone else running dual cores with mega RAM.

Diane, if you get it installed and running, could you post back your experiences with running G'MIC?
