Hello GimpChat friends !

I'm happy to announce the release of a new version 1.7.2 of the G'MIC image processing framework (including the plug-in for GIMP).

It is recommended to update your installation to this newest version as soon as possible, since some important changes and optimizations have been introduced in the G'MIC core that break the compatibility of the filter definitions with the previous versions (so, new filter updates will be available only for version >1.7.2 from now!).

The full Changelog can be found here : https://discuss.pixls.us/t/release-of-gmic-1-7-2

There is particularly a bunch of new color presets that can give different looks to your images, as shown below:

I hope you'll enjoy this new version ! Work is going on to offer you the best possible plug-in for GIMP :keybdtype :sleepkbd :hehe !!

By coincidence, I have to report that "HSL adjustment" filter doesn't work properly in G'MIC 1.7.2:

It does work in 1.7.1 pre.

It is a bit pity, because I made just publicity for this awesome filter. See "Repairing Color Cast"

(windows 64)

In both cases I used "auto reduce level" and "auto set hue inverse". With both all the sliders in neutral

To steven8: I did use your photo of "repair color cast" to show mister Tschumperlé something that was wrong. now this problem is solved, so I delete the images here. Thank you steven8.

Thanks for the feedback iarga, indeed there was a little bug remaining.
I've just solved it, and if you refresh your filters (press the 'update' button), the HSL adjustment filter should work again !
Thanks for reporting !

However another one: The "Color grading"-filter doesn't work anymore:

after "OK":

It doesnt give an error now, but the "color grading" does not work properly. The specific colorgrade sliders for highlights and shadows do nothing, only the sliders for the midtones do work. (with color grading on)

This should be fixed now.

I think it works like it did before. Thank you. I know there are 465 filters in G'MIC. You said a lot changed under the hood. So with changing complex stuff, this kind of things can happen I suppose.

Yes, and I cannot thank enough people who help finding this kind of hidden bugs.
So, thanks again :)

I didn't test your pre-release of 1.7.2, so next time I will try to do some testing beforehand.

A lot of filters under stereoscopic 3d give an error, this is one example:

After "OK":
