Bonjour

On Android the app "Fragment" is used to create polyscapes. (cf. Duckduckgo).
But nothing with Gimp or G'mic.
Photoshop uses clipping-mask for doing the same, step by step. Long and tedious.

And I prefer Gimp, for years

So, here is my call : could some developer among Gimp and G'mic work (hard) to create this very trendy script ?

Thanks

could you better explain and post an example?
I'm too lazy to understand the concept by googling (neither use Android)

What do you need other than something that generates geometric shapes?

I'm not surprised that PS has no script for this... with creativity/talent the possibilities are infinite. A script restricts you do what the author thought about (and was willing to code for). Or you end up clicking checkboxes in a gigantic dialog without having any idea of what the result will be.

Polyscapes are pretty trendy at the moment, aren't they? I've been seeing them a lot these days.

Honestly, given how open ended a polyscape design can be, I think it would be much easier just to make what you want using the tools gimp already has rather than design a huge plugin that can encompass all the possibilities. They're pretty simple images to make, anyways.

I just googled polyscapes/images and I have to strongly agree with you.

I really do not know anything about polyscapes. Since it is "trendy", would one of you knowledgeable people give use a tutorial on it?

From googling "polyscapes". It's just looks like an image (of usually landscape), and with overlay of polygons or simple shapes of other landscapes, with some fading/gradient effect here and there. A really simple polyscape would be a circle cut out of mountains put over top of a layer with ocean for example. A tutorial would be very basic since if you know how to use masks, selections, and stuff you can create all sorts of polyscapes to fit your taste.

Here's a quick one.

I just had to try this. My images are of the Olgebay Mansion (now Mansion Museum) at the Olgebay Park Resort & Conference Center. It has been a national park for many years now. The inset is of the reflecting pond area which is close to the mansion. Many marriages are done here as it is a beautiful area with flowers, trees, and beautiful surrounding scenery. It is in Wheeling, West Virginia where I live.

Thank you Tin. It does remind you of vintage. I remember that both my grandmother's mirrors in their houses were oval, not square or round.
