 Post subject: Why are there no texteffect layer styles in G'MIC ?

The Gimp layereffects are buggy (the .py kills your history, values no longer show up, patterns are displayed too small, etc.) or have no preview.
I know the layerstyles in Photoshop are vector-technology and G'MIC is not, but still, a better programmed layereffect could make life so much better.

G'MIC has a large preview and recently interactive curves added, so the functionality should be all there.

Having something like this in G'MIC would be immense !

I'm fairly certain that David would enjoy having someone join the team to crank out the code for these types of features. Although I agree that layer effects are pretty damn cool and would love to see something created for us to use, I know the probability factor being based on David being the sole person overseeing GMIC, it's not likely to happen without someone else helping.

I've only ever dabbled in Python would love to help with the aesthetics but wouldn't know where to start.
Think it's time for a Google see what i can learn. :)
