Foreground Extract interactive (error fixed in the pre-release)

I am running GIMP 2.4.7 in Windows 7 (32 bit) and I have not installed G MIC. Sorry.

Running GIMP 2.8.18, gmic 1.7.8 64 bit Win 10 and I get the same errors unless I select new layer(s)

I did another test.

Now I had the same error as you all.

The difference is that I now pushed the Apply button!

With the OK button I don't get the error.

(Don't forget to Reset filter before new test.)

Double-checked, Iarga: correct what you say.
At this point:
- either David adjusts the "Apply" to work as the "OK"
- or in the instructions removes the suggestion to use either ones and recommends only the OK to start
just to avoid misunderstandnis.

OK, so I've done some minor modifications in the plug-in code, and I believe this should be enough to fix this issue.
I've just posted new pre-release binaries on the G'MIC website : http://gmic.eu/gimp.shtml
Could you please test and tell me if everything seems OK now ?

downloaded/installed the pre-release.
tested the Foreground Extract filter
everything OK also using Apply

Now mine just gives me a blank transparent layer no matter what I do. I went back to the older version for the time being.

I also experienced the problem and filed an issue on github ( g'mic community issue 60). I retried today with the new prerelease and updated filters, and got this error after some time:

*** Error in ./gimp_extract_foreground/*repeat/*local/(...)/*repeat/*local/*do/*if/ *** Command '-input': File '975.4100208324851', format does not take any input options (options '768.612453170809,+-170.876926041497,1657.081203170809' specified).

edit: this happened when I moved around the canvas with the arrow keys.
