I read the GMIC README and I hope I have the right place to make a GMIC GIMP Plug-in suggestion.

When the GMIC GIMP Plug-in is open, at the bottom of available filters, there are a couple of controls (add to favorite, update, internet, and expand/collapse). It would be very nice addition if there was a search --- either at the bottom of the list or at the top. As I go through tutorials and such, I'm finding I'm scrolling up/down, expanding/collapsing trying to find a particular filter.

I'm not sure when they were added, but the links to videos is a nice feature (i.e., Frequencies -> Fourier transform).

Welcome to GIMPCHAT.

Maybe this is what you are looking for - GMIC search of filters already exists ...

Wow... that was quick :-) I totally missed that in the About section. Not what I envisioned (it's better), but totally solves the problem. A real time saver. It looks a little weird at first. The text box says 811 found and then shows lines & lines of html entities, but you can scroll past them. And the search/find works like a champ. Typed in fourier and it shows that it is in the Frequencies section. Yeh! Thank you.

I also wrote a script that loads the G'MIC filter page as it updates with new filters. This list shows where certain filters are located in G'MIC's menu tree.

Opening /clicking on the filter in GIMP opens this webpage dynamically in your default browser window.
http://gmic.eu/gimp_filters.txt

Script can be found in the menu under Image window "G'MIC>Help>GMIC Filter Webpage"

Place in your scripts folder and either restart GIMP or go to Filters>Script-Fu>Refresh Scripts

The Search Filter is gone under About. I thought I could live without it, but I can't :-)

Gimp 2.8.22
gmic 2.2.1

There has been a search filter in the plug-in since a while now, but you have to use the Qt version of the G'MIC plug-in,
instead of the GTK one (which is **not** maintained anymore!).
See screenshot below.

I think the problem is Linux Mint 17 is based on Ubuntu 14.04 – Trusty (Thar) and AFAIK the QT requirements are not supported. However the GTK version works fine.

Only a suggestion but there is a list of (most) filters https://gmic.eu/gimp_filters.txt

A bit tedious but open that in a text editor and do a search to find the path.
