GMIC (GIMP) Kaleidoscope now has two [Polar] entries, but no [Blended] entry. What happened?

manjaro 19.0.1, gimp 2.10.18, gmic-qt 2.8.4_pre*. after manjaro/gimp/gmic updates, the gmic kaleidoscope [blended] filter dissappeard. tried uninstalling gmic/gimp and reinstalling, but this did not fix the issue.

Maybe it was deleted in G'mic 2.8.4, it's still listed in 2.8.3.

This is as up-to-date as I have at the moment. kubuntu 18.04 / Gimp appimage / gimp-gmic 2.9.0 (compiled about a week ago).



Maybe try an update, although apart from a few filters that appeared in the testing section I do not see much change between versions. The code changes seem to be aimed at the stand-alone gmic.

Won't be updating GMIC anymore then. I use blended the most.

The GMIC distributions for OS distros (manjaro, mint, kubuntu, etcetera) do not appear to be in synch. Evidently Kaleidoscope [BLEND] is in some 2.8.4+ versions , but not others.

As well, a fairly bad Kaleidoscope [BLEND] bug has been uncovered in GMIC 2.8.0 (Manjaro) release wrt intermediate data. It would require more time to debug the issue, but the command is picking up data from one GIMP project file, and using it in both the preview and final output for the project file being edited. It's only a guess, but the Ka [BLEND] author likely already knows about the issue.

Currently using G'mic 2.8.5 and it does have Blend. Download the G'mic AppImage, make it executable and run it. Then locate the "gmic_gimp_qt" and put it into your user Gimp plugins folder.
