That's a very pretty effect, Alek.

I moved your post to a thread of its own with the hope that more people would see it.

very nice effect...did you use gmic to do it? and in case which filter?

About your question will be easier to reply if you could show a Before /After of that image...
but for script remember that scripts can't offer a preview and that is a big limit for many manipulation

I don't know if this is what you had in mind, Alek, but here's my try at it.

First, I added an alpha channel, then duplicated the image layer and hid the bottom layer.

I used the Perspective tool only at the top of the image. Its original width is 800px and I pulled the edges of the perspective tool in about 150px on each side without changing the height of the image.

Next I made the bottom layer visible and merged the two layers.

Using the Paths tool, I selected the area where there was a line made by the altered image against the original one and used Resynthesizer on the two areas. That way the image didn't get cropped.

Original Image

Perhaps blurring the results just a little may make it look more dreamy like your example.

I'm adding a zoomed out image of how it looked before Resynthesizing and showing the paths I used.

:lol I keep playing with this.
Be sure to duplicate the image layer a time or two.
I used G'MIC > Lights & Shadows > Relief light and played a bit with the controls.

I tried different layer modes and got some nice effects but wanted more.

On the gmic layer, I went to Hue & Saturation, raised the saturation and lowered the Lightness just a little.

Set the layer mode to Overlay and merged it with the image layer.

Looking for the Resynthesizer? I know I have seen it, either in Gimp or in another program, but I can't find it now! Ahhhhhh!

I have searched and searched for the gimp2.6 resynthesizer plug-in for Windows but I haven't come up with anything useful. Hopefully someone else will pop in here and tell you where it is.

Mind is installed from a Fedora12, Linux repository.

I'm looking at the image at the top of the page, and it looks to me like it's done in HDR (High Dynamic Range) and that is why the colors are so vibrant.

Is there a plug-in/script that does that?

Thanks Rod for all of those links.

I don't think this link is in there. It is a Python plug-in and requires 3 different camera views. There are no instructions about settings.

I tried it by duplicating the image layer so I had three layers, then I finagled with the color settings on two of them so that one looked under exposed and the other over exposed. The results were not what I had hoped for but I used the default settings. May take some more experimenting.

well is not a hdr tool, but could do some magic to recover from shadows
Hard to guess what paramethers the sliders control, there is no any documentation but the default is a reasonable starting point

It is the same plugin i am hosting here http://photocomix-resources.deviantart. ... d1vlegm..i thought that "dynamic range transformer" was offering a better hint of what the plugin does then "magie"

I use the scripts but I didn't get what I wanted from them.

I only used G.MIC painting and a layer.I played with the light and contrast.
totally two layers.one with the painting and one that I lower the opacity to 50%
from the top of the first.
