EDIT
I decided to transform this in a sort of recipes book for gimp artistic effects

Not a classic overview showing the result with the default values ( just clicking yes)

but a search of less obvious effects and combination.

For most of the "Recipe" the settings are included ,as "favorite" or as command (to use command in the gimp plugin Gimp/various/custom code(locale)

DAMN..another side that prevent hotlink ! :gaah let's try a alternative ..yes...!

PhotoComix Smoothing (that btw is NOT a filter i did , i only indicated a way to use it )

:wow :drum :pshoot I FOUND SOMETHING REALLY COOL !
A filter from Naggobot "Make Squiggly" but used with very different values..here did a amazing job!!

Image

Too cool , i saved the preset

{Subtle squiggly}{Make Squiggly}{gimp_Squiggly}{gimp_Squiggly_Preview}{1.53846}{4.74359}{0.982906}{2.13675}{0.846154}{1}{1}{0}{3}{0.0512821}{0.564103}{12}{1}{0}{0}

well that above was really a surprise !

Anyway i went on exploring the others ..below "Beauty Smoothing"
"
Image

Last Samj filter for metallic colors

Image

Ohh i found something else...:spring ...2 steps to go

step 1 )Color Abstraction Painting ...i was diffident because i don't like too much abstract ,
but after a bit of tweaking i come to this

Image

step 2 )that already cool but with a bit of smoothing..

Naggobot's dream smoothing is gorgeous! I've just discovered it myself.

I love how different they all look! Too many choices and too little time, lol

I open a new topic in the script board not to crosspost but because this is already too messy
