Maybe this is just a terminology thing, but when you 'unzip' something you are asked to specify which folder you want to unzip them to.
You seem to be confusing a zip file with an Installer (exe) that guides you and does all the work.

If when you say 'unzip' you mean 'Open' to display the contents of the zip. Usually there is a text file (readme) that explains where to copy what files to.
So I am confused. Without having your downloaded zipfile I cannot really advise.
Try going to this "Gmic Discussions"
Following the instructions on where to get the latest version and how to install.
Post your Gmic related questions there too for a quick response.

Spunkygurl80 if you used the link posted above by jayprich did you download the 32 bit Windows file (installer) or one of the other windows zip packages if you could let us know which one you downloaded it could help us guide you

Also if you want to delete the folder you will have to close you gimp first or whatever else is using it

Did you close gimp before trying to delete, also if you downloaded the zip file what did you do with it, it should be in your downloads folder
