My G'MIC update has not been working correctly for awhile and today it crashed while trying to update it. Wouldn't let me take a screenshot of the error either. If you need I can write down what it says.

Oh and I know it is not G'MIC related but I am always getting error messages when I do 'make pattern from image'. It is making it but still giving me error messages.

Yes, please.

Are you using my version or some other?

Do you mean update the entire G'MIC program or refreshing scripts in G'MIC.
If it's crashing while refreshing scripts it's probably something on Davids end.Sometimes the filters are not uploaded correctly or just aren't there or some other thing is going on.You have to remember many of those filters are stored online.

As far as pattern maker it probably is just a deprecation in the script. That is it is probably either an older version of the script running in a new version of Gimp or an older version of Gimp trying to run calls in a newer script.
Nothing you can do about that other than using the filter in the proper version or tell me what the error is and i can look at the script for you.If it's actually performing the results the way it should, then it's probably something minor that needs to be tweaked. :)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I think I downloaded the latest G'MIC with 2.8.4. I meant when refreshing the filters I get this message
Filters update from Internet (partially) failed!
Unable to reach these sources *http://gmic.sourceforge.net_def.1522

I really don't understand the error messages I get with make pattern from image because they seem to be unrelated. Only thing I can think of is I have them in the wrong folder.

Gimp Error X 3 each time I run the script.

Failed to load data:
Couldn't recognise the image file format for file 'C\Users\ my name\gimp-2.8\patterns\
(1) autumn-pink-glitter7z
(2) bling-text-scm
(3) README1ST

Thanks I will check

These three files aren't patterns and should be removed from the patterns folder.

(1) autumn-pink-glitter7z <-- 7zip archive
(2) bling-text-scm <-- Scheme script
(3) README1ST[ <-- Text file.

Now I have another problem. I guess the easiest way around it is to uninstall everything and reinstall it again?

Gimp will not open for me (whether I have the new G'MIC ((1.5.5.2))in the wrong place or not I don't know). Please help me. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

when you say "update" .. do you mean pressing the button to update filters?

(or are you re-installing a new version of the plug-in)

G'MIC is not updating/refreshing. When I try I get this error
<b>Filters update from Internet (partially) failed !</b>
<i>Unable to reach these filters sources :</i>
* http://gmic.sourceforge.net/update1552.gmic.

oh and I have the new version now. Thanks for asking.

The URL is indeed correct : http://gmic.sourceforge.net/update1552.gmic
So it means the plug-in is not able to call the 'curl.exe' subprocess correctly. 'curl.exe' is a small tool to download data from Internet, and is used by the plug-in to update its filters.
Could you tell us if you have a '_gmic/' subfolder in your plug-in directory ? It should have been installed with the main plug-in binary 'gmic.exe'.
Thanks.

Seems to be looking for the jpeg62.dll when I start-up now. I did a complete uninstall and reinstall. It is opening for me for now. But G'MIC is still not updating from the internet when I click on refresh.

Found the jpeg62.dll. Put it into the plugins folder. Now GMIC is crashing when I try to start it.

Found the _gmic sub folder. I hope this fixes things when I put it where it should be

GMIC is still crashing on opening and I am getting this error message after moving the folder, restarting my computer, shutting it down and starting it up again.
