Hi MaTtia !

Can you explain exactly two things:

1. How to compile a static version
I tried to edit ~ ~ \ win32-g + + \ qmake.conf
QMAKE_LFLAGS =-static
without success ....

2. What is the best approach to the translation of the program - edit *.qm or *.ts ?

Other matters:
Lylejk writes:
Still interested in what plugins you have in store.

I am also very curious what and how they will act plugins?
How did you learn to write so good programs?
You write a few words about yourself?

I believe you need the static version of Qt. I compiled Qt using MXE which is a set of scripts that creates a cross compile environment. It downloads and compiles Qt as static libraries.
The official Qt packages contain dynamic libraries.

From Qt Creator edit translations/translations.pri
Example to add an English translation:
TRANSLATIONS += $$PWD/data/translations/knotter_it.ts \
                $$PWD/data/translations/knotter_cs.ts \
                $$PWD/data/translations/knotter_en.ts
Note the backslash after knotter_cs.ts
The new file is knotter_language-code.ts
Then (still from creator) use Tools > External > Linguist > Update translations (lupdate)
This will create the required file
Open the new .ts file with Qt Linguist. It has a simple interface, you can check out it's manual

MareroQ wrote:

The planned things are: cusp shapes, edge types, insert stuff (like Lylejk's filled regions ;)) and operations on the selection.

MareroQ wrote:

I learned by myself, I spend a lot of time on the computer and I have always liked programming.

MareroQ wrote:

There's not much to say, I'm studying computer science at the university of Padua and I like a lot programming.

Appreciate the update Mattia; like the new border feature; helps add dimension when porting into GIMP (stroking path) since the result can be blurred then merged into your stroke source. :)

A wonderful tutorial abraess; almost makes me want to download Blender and play myself (I said almost; lol). I can see that Knotter would work great using this flow since you can export SVG within Knotter itself. Thanks for sharing this one. :)

Check that in preferences -> general you have enabled to save toolbars.
The fact that you cannot open two images at the same time is caused by Windows, it often disallow to open a file multiple times.
Saving the Knot style is one of the features planned for 0.9.3.

lylejk: nice work :)! knotter seems more attractive to me when i see this than when i see some of the actual celtic knotwork made with it - the celtic knotwork from knotter feels annoyingly machine made to me no matter how i try to tweak it, but the stuff you two do here is a different thing entirely, makes me want to install knotter again.

Still wish to have a container fill option; maybe the next release. Anyway, I make the tau a little better; just uploading the 7z file though (less then 2K so won't take too much of Tux's space). :)

edit:

 Argh; didn't see the background option. lolol

Oh well; still cool to have app transparent capability now. :)

"knotter Basics" in addition to "insert polygon" - "insert rectangle" should begin with for me - a choice of options.
Mattia - whether it is planned -when?
Maybe for the version of the plugin ?

Inserting a quare lattice is planned for the next release (0.9.3).

Filling an arbitrary shape should be available in 0.9.4.
