Very cool indeed Wallace, but I'm very lazy, so maybe some day, this can be automated (filter guy I am; lol). :)

Hey, cool Wallace, thanks. were those made from what is already in that folder?

Yes they are, some were rotated of course to create the angled 'y'.

That looks awesome Wallace. Those must have taken quite some time to make.

They did take a while and the smaller more detailed pieces took the longest to make.

Maybe your brush set could be transformed into Fontlab's Photophont? http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t ... =photofont

That's a cool idea. I really haven't planed on making a fount out of these brushes, the thought never crossed my mind. For now... I'm just going to leave things as is. Great suggestion though, maybe there's an industrious GC member that wouldn't mind taking on this task. ;)

That sound like something I would be able to do.
Let me get this right... you're saying that you would be able to create a font from the letters I make?

Yes. Not a standard TTF or OTF typeface. The final render would be a PHF file that can be used with the PhotoFont Start plugin for PSPI and GIMP.

@Wallace-

What is the license on these? I'd like to share the link to here over at http://www.cartographersguild.com as I can see them being used on battlemaps, but would like to include any usage restrictions up front.

Thanks-

Thank you, Rod. I wish photophonts worked in Linux. That would be so cool.

If you can get wine, and PSPI working they will. :)

PSPI requires the Adobe SDK for building the PSPI.exe file so i believe a binary can not be built to run in Linux You need either an older version of WINE. The WINE program runs the PSPI plugin and the plugin runs the 8BF filters.
OR
I did have PSPI and photoshop filters running in Fedora before. Because i needed a newer version of WINE to run my commercial programs i needed to install a windows version of Gimp-2.6.12 and run the PSPI win32 executable with it. It can be done. :bigthup

Great brushes and a font would be cool. My poor brush folder is bulging now!

Thanks for these, Wallace. I've done a bit of copper work in the past and these brushes look just like the real thing, I'll just have to remember not to use the blowtorch when I'm fixing them together.

There is a lack of brushes that created Wallace for fonts http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7881 (the tube at an angle of 45 degrees) - we can do it themselves - but always it will be neither the author's version - will update ?

Yes, here are some additional brushes that I created to help me to complete the pipeline font's uppercase letters.
You can see the new preview image and get all the brushes here... http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=12& ... 40#p102588
