I was thinking, is there a script or something that would puts all the "Snap To" functions in one dialog?
lets say, I need "snap to guides", "snap to canvas edge" and also need to turn off "snap to active path" and "snap to center line".
I would need to open the "View" menu 4 time to do this.
If there was a "snap to" function that opened a dialog, where I would turn off/on whatever snap function I wanted at the time. It would increase work flow when this functionality is used.
As it is now... when you chose a "snap to" function, the menu closes and you have to reopen it again and agian to change any snap to function.
It would be nice to have this all together in one dialog.
Does this sound like something that can be scripted? Or does it already exist?

Well, you can tearoff the View menu and have the snap commands accessible as needed.

It seems to be not available on all platforms (not on WinXP nor my KDE, and I can't find an option to enable them).

Are you sure about that? (It's on the XP GIMP I tested.)

Tearoffs aren't available from the window's menu bar; you have to use the right-click context menu or the triangle dropdown (as shown in the GIF).

Saulgoode I didn't know you could do this, which is why I laughed, but it actually works

That's awesome saulgoode. I had no idea that was possible. Thanks for showing us that, appreciate it.

I'm sorry, and thanks for clearing things up. I didn't know this was available and thought you were joking.
"Live and learn"...
No need to script this then.

I do not believe you can snap to more than one thing at a time though.
