Ah; I envy you Rod. Too cheap to buy it (have the older one that was at the time free; new one has all kinds of additional features from some of the reading I've done). It's very GIMP friendly too. Not sure about the new version, but the old version requires that the layer have an embedded alpha channel. GML Matting is what I envisioned SIOX being but of course it's not. :)

I'd take out the align tool. I've never figured out how it works.

After you select the Align tool, you click on the layer/selection/path (in the image, itself) needing alignment and it activates the alignment buttons. I use this tool extensively for centering text on a layer before making the layer the same size as the image.

@Mike

Peter Sikking is not in any way the founder of gimp that exist from very long before he started to contribute to the GUI redisign

The Van Gogh filter,...well is not a tool but has nothing to do with van gogh, is not even a artistic filter nobody never use it or know for what is for, or why was included in gimp

To be honest somebody on the dev mail list was able to find a possible use, a kind of blur effect,
a pity that master that effect will require some kind of preview, but the filter don't offer any preview :hoh

I actually have VMware Fusion on my late model mac computer and it has PSP 8 and X1 on it as I was being encouraged to use that because it was so fantastic for what I wanted to do. I also belong to a few groups which are basically PSP groups. It works in much the same manner in any case. But in all honesty, I really find it difficult to get a handle on PSP after using GIMP. To me they have many of the same features in any case and the more I use GIMP, the more I like it, the less I like PSP. These days PSP is only useful to me for converting some psp files to tubes etc which I can use on GIMP. I find GIMP much easier to use, much more help available, loads more instructional videos, less $$ to invest in and many other advantages..I need to stop pouring forth with the advantages of using GIMP as there are so many and I am sure you all know them. :) So don't change a thing!

This link links to a link that links to an article about MS not being allowed to bundle IE in Europe.
A quick google search turns up nothing about Adobe suing MS over paint. I clicked on it because it sounded ridiculous to me. It probably is made up.

(I swear it was not my intention to to use the word link four times in a row. :hehe )

Foreground tool and ink, and perspective clone because I never use any of them.

Gms9810, is that because you don't understand its usage or you just plain don't care to use them?

Foreground tool is excellent for isolating objects (but it requires too much tinkering!)

Perspective cloning troubles me (no matter how many times I visit GIMP's help manual to understand it).
