I found the Eric Lamarque filter NIGHT SKY very simple to use.
With a picture with no clouds apply the filter ( filters>render>night sky)
and change the mode in Burn with opacity 72 e voila......
here my test

and the result

Marcello,
it seems a good filter to create an atmosphere
where did you find it? I didn't by googling
can you post it here?

Marcello, I too went seeking the filter last night and could not find it. I was going to ask you this morning (now) where to go but you and Dinasset have already done the job for me - thanks very much.

Oh dear, now I am so embarrassed - tried the filter several times on a scene with a clear blue sky and this is the best I could do. Yet there appear to be so few options for me to mess up.

Marcello am I having a serious senior's moment, missing something very obvious or just plain stupid?
