Hey,

This is my first post...I was wondering in GIMP 2 if there was a way to flip a selection inside out.

Eg

Image

Given the image on the left and using the BLACK circle as circle-select, I want to be able to take what is "inside" the selection and mirror it to the "outside" and take what's "outside" and flip it to inside the selection circle.

Thanks in advance

Used Mathmap>Distort>Radial Inversion to get this result. Still not quite what you wanted though. :)

Put this one (unzip first of course) into your mathmap's expression>distortion folder. :)

Thanks for your patience

I'm finding my MathMap under "Filters>Generic>MathMap>MathMap" and when I try to use "Radial Eversion" I get the error "`llvm_template.o' needs to be located in one of the following folders..." Maybe I'm too tired but I feel like an idiot. Does it matter if I'm using 2.8 and the plugin is 2.6?

I've found a rewording for my question. Essentially all I want is a "Mirror" I can shape, say a circle from the above answer. Or be able to shape a mirror with the free-tool-selection. I don't think MathMap is the way to go, I appreciate the idea, but I'm just going to end up wasting your time playing with the MathMap plugin.

Thanks for understanding

if you look carefully at the math map result it pretty much gives you what you want...i don't have mathmap either but just observing the result look at the highlighted portion

Thanks again Lyle, I was able to finally get MathMap to work, I must've been really tired (or stupid) last night. I'm trying to use it for odd shapes so I'm going to continue to play with it. I'm trying to use it for UV Mapping in Blender.

Thanks everyone
