Does Gimp have an image viewer built in like PSP X4 ? If not, then is there a plug-in that will accomplish the same thing? Thank you.

NO
But why you don't do the other way around ?

First you browse with..let say xnview (www.xnview.com) as soon you found a image you want to edit in gimp, you click on the thumb, and from xnview menu you go to File/Open With/Associated Program, and gimp will load with that imagen open

And BTW xnview run much better then gimp PS plugins , and has a lot of batch mode options

PS the first time you will have to indicate gimp as associated program, also that from Xnview/file/open with/add program.. just indicate there gimp.exe (that is in program files/gimp /bin )

Thank you for your suggestion, I downloaded Xnview and have all my images loaded in it. The open with this is under tools and once I added Gimp it worked fine. Thanks again.

yes under tool in the viewer (thumbnail ) mode under Image in the edit mode (after you click on the thumbnail to enlarge )

You may found interesting a forum topic titled ShellOut , a plugin allowing to do the contrary .from gimp to other SW including but not only xnview
