Hello All,
I hope this is the correct forum.

I have been looking for a script called "supernova" that allows for the creation of a star at a designated x,y coordinate. I may well be over looking this one. I would use this to add a "sparkle" to a wedding ring shot.

Thanks in advance,

Eric

There is one that is standard in Gimp in Filters/Light And Shadow.

As Erisian has described.
Here's an example.

Oh...I feel both visually impaired as well as stoopid! Thank you for finding exactly what I needed. I wrote one for Photoshop back in version 3.04 but alas, those days are gone and I will not go back to Photoshop after using GIMP.

You can always create a sparkle brush with GIMP, it's real easy. Take a look at this link for an easy tutorial. https://www.gimpusers.com/tutorials/sparkle-on-objects

Some Photoshop filters work with Gimp. All that's needed is PSPI: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=12036&hilit=PSPI+file&start=10 (Post #13)

You just have to search here or the web to find filters. Not all filters will work. Here's a useful list of Gimp scripts/plugins and Photoshop filters:

Best part about Super Nova is it now also has on-canvas settings. You could also try sparkle in the same menu or Beautify (another plugin in filters) - I used some of the filters in there to pretty up one of my daughters wedding shots as she only had personal camera shots.
On this one I added two borders - blurred and sparkle

Oh and Erich don't feel bad, takes forever to find everything in Gimp. I am still finding stuff and have been using it for nearly 20 years.

Don't worry - the thing I am looking for is always the thing I can't find. :hehe
