I am using the Linux plug-in

The old png plug-in would protest if there was more than one layer in an image when you saved it, and if the layer boundary was not the same as the image size.

No more.

You have to be very alert if you are saving a static, single-layer png so that you have only one layer or it will merge it to another existing layer.

If the layer boundaries in an animation are not the same as the image window, there will be an error message and the image will not save but no clue as to why it will not save. In this case, someone may install the plug-in and think the plug-in is not working when saving an animation instead of the fact that the layer boundaries are different from the image boundary.

The two things that would be nice to have in the plug-in:
1. Warning that there are two or more layers when saving as a static png image.
2. A message about layer offsets instead of the plug-in failing.
