A Gimp Developer (Liam) has plans to make a public guide on how to make third party GEGL Filters. Which will be published on Gimp.org soon. Other then that there is only a Gimp Youtuber (Pix Cores) that made content on my GEGL Filters.

If anyone wants to support my hard work and GEGL, please consider making videos or blogs about my third party GEGL filters. My project did orders of magnitude more then projects like Glimpse (which failed and did nothing). Yet, my GEGL filters get a dozen times less media attention. Thanks for supporting the five limbed goat.

I like the 'stepping down' bit - maybe someone will say 'please don't step down' :)

You helped me make a script that does fade-outs, fade-ins and transitions on animation streams from the command line. You knew about the unknown gegl 'opacity' value that is a fraction of 1. (Works on alpha and no-alpha images)

I've started converting PNGs to video with just ffmpeg. Actually faster than fancy video editors that always have their own set of limitations.

I stepped down long ago, deciding to devote my life to using artificial intelligence to promote global stupidity.
The project had unbelievable results. I now have stupidity in every corner of the globe that can even merge with other stupidity.

LOL at Tas. :)

Contrast have you considered contacting Davies Media Design or other YouTubers for G.I.M.P, and asking him/them to promote your GEGL efforts?

Davies literally ignored me. I don't think he covers stuff unless it already has mainstream attention.

Once again, one Gimp Youtube' PixCores already did cover me several times over in fact. I was just asking here for help.

That's a good idea Rod. I've done some just using screen capture software which is what you actually want to show rather than an ugly head (just speakin for myself here):)
My voice was also crap even though I gave-up smoking 30 years ago.
I might do one on using gegl from the command line. LinuxBeaver has done a lot for Gimp so I hope he moves-on to something just as productive and that even pays the bills :)

One image is worth a thousand words. Nice to know what these filters can do. Any install instructions?

I added 3 .so namely bevel, gegleffects, inner-glow files to .local/share/gegl-0.4/plug-ins as instructed. Restarted the computer ( Ubuntu 22.04 ). But I still get no effects when trying act on a piece of text.

I had to create the gegl-0.4 folder as it was not there before.

Edit 1:

I have these GEGL actions available

C:\\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Local\Gegl-4.0\plugins folder

Re-start GIMP and find it:
In menu:

Working here. What version of Gimp are you using.
Not necessary but if you have a tidy mind then you can use sub-folders

I am not sure how up-to-date my copies are, not something I use very much. This Kubuntu 22.04 / Gimp 2.10.32 (PPA)

Edit: making a guess. Are you using your Gimp Appimage ? If you are then it does not see that gegl-0.4 folder. The only way I get it working is:
Unpack the appimage
Put the GEGL xxxx.so files in ...../squashfs-root/usr/lib64/gegl-0.4/ as

appimage.jpg [ 118.65 KiB | Viewed 1474 times ]

And run using the Apprun file.
