I was making a desktop icon for myself the other day. I created a few paths that I needed for the image. I then began to use the Scale Tool to scale these paths to the proper size.
Lo and behold!
When I began to scale the paths down, by pulling a corner inward toward the paths. The paths began to increase in size, and when I pulled the corner outward away for the paths, they became smaller.
I'm wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this while using the Scale Tool?
Also, is this behaviour something that could have been inadvertently caused by me?
Can this behaviour of the Scale Tool be intentionally implemented, If so how is this done?

This odd/opposite scaling behaviour continued throughout this project whenever I employed the Scale Tool. I was however able to complete my icon and this odd behaviour of the Scale Tool has not returned.

You must be in corrective mode.

Quote from the docs
Corrective (Backward) inverts the direction. Primarily used with the Rotation tool to repair digital images that have some geometric errors (a horizon not horizontal, a wall not vertical...).
