Is it now possible to open two instances of Gimp-2.8.4?
I accidentally double tapped Gimp to open twice and well...it did. lol

I have never ever been able to open 2 gimp interfaces at one time. Not without Shellout anyways. :)

Weird. That must have been perfect timing, or Gimp-2.8.4 has made it possible.

Running v2.8.4 and tried opening another instance. Didn't work. I shut down GIMP and tried double-clicking the launcher and still only one instance.

Interestingly enough, I can open more than one instance of Firefox or Thunderbird.

I use 'RocketDock' and that never happened to me by over-clicking, but I'm using 2.6.11.
On the other hand... I have opened 3 instances of the 2.6.11 a few times, by just selecting 3 image to open with GIMP from the right-click menu.
It did use up lots of memory though and nearly crashed my PC.

It was actually Gimp-2.8.4 portable with Parthas new gimprun binary.
That may be the answer.
I just clicked it 3 times and opened 3 instances and 2 are not responding. lol
Guess i will have to be very click wary.

I've done it, on purpose, but it worked.

I've managed to open and run 2 or 3 instances of GIMP repeatedly and it obviously works with 2.8.4-2.8.10 versions.
Each and every instance is fully functional, you can creates and save documents in each without any performance penalty.

Here's the screencast (~1 minute, better if watched on Vimeo in HD)

Obviously it's not supposed to be happening and Idk which end is at fault - Windows or GIMP.
Gotta ask the devs, not sure they are aware of this 'feature' already :)
