Hi,

I loved the idea of Gimp user interface brainstorming but the blog became defunct about a year and half ago. The channel gave everybody opportunity to contribute to the GIMP UI redesign process and was moderated by the GIMP UI redesign team, consisting of professional interaction and usability specialists. The current improvements to Gimp UI are as a result of some of the suggestions that were made through the blog.

I am just glad to note that the Gimp development team has decided to open a new platform on this link here for similar purpose. With all the new innovations around, I am hoping that GIMP will continue improving on its UI and usability to accommodate planned features and functionality.

My first wish is the horizontal orientation for tool options like in Gimp painter 2.8 by Onkel Hatti:

I don't see why this wouldn't be possible in future GIMP official releases. Maybe Onkel would share his patch with the devs and it could be added to the GIThub Master right away as a new option under the windows menu item. Just an extra windows arrangement or workspace. :bigthup

Again:
I am not the maintainer of gimp-painter, and I will not be!
This ui is not from me, but from the gimp-painter maintainer.
So there will be no patches made by me for sure!

Onkel Hatti

Hi Silk,

That's the point, as an option in the single window mode.
