Hola!

I'm SubAtomic, a new Gimp user who's a bit dim but I mean well!

Only come to be able to use Gimp as I don't have a laptop/computer, but found Gimp/Inkscape in a Debian XFCE environment on the Google Play Store.

Hope to get stuck in and have fun with a fully featured art program on a silly little tablet, and see that the Gimp community seem to be a friendly bunch making scrpts and plug-ins to further its capabilities and features. I've long ago turned my back on Adobes overpriced bloated apps so intend to figure out these fine programs to make art and animations on the way, and learn a few things from the more talented and experienced here!

Please excuse my dumb questions, I was dropped on my head as a baby...

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

Hehe, hiya again Molly! :)

Thanks Issabella!

Are we all good on this fine Sunday? I'm knee deep on trying to duplicate 320 layers, but apply various effects to the copied layer before moving on to the next one, woop woop!!!

I tried that on my ASUS TF101 android tablet. - Not a wonderful experience. The built in magnifier will drive you crazy.

Invest in a cheap notebook and install linux on it, much more versatile than android.

Hi Oregonian and Rich! Cool bird!

Ooh, yeah, smaller tab would be painful! The saving grace of this tablet is the 2560x1600 resoloution and the S-Pen, I don't see it being useable without that as I use gestures to move the page and the S-Pen handles the microscopic buttuons and menus, I still may end up throwing myself off a bridge at this rate though, it's like being drunk and using boxing gloves, what withlag and tapping the wrong item I use the HW erase button like I'm performing a combo move in Tekken haha! :D

Sadly I'm badly injured and out of work for at least 6 months so no new hardware for a good while yet!

Edit: Here's what I have so far of my first project, only a tester for what I want to achieve. The logo is from Ghost in The Shell Anime series, the quote is from The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. I'm doing this to make it into a boot animation.

This has the text circle rotated 2° each layer for 90° of rotation. I need to get a layer per ° to get it as smooth as I need, then going to add effects to make it look glitchy... This is sooo difficult with a tablet, argh!!

Heya one and all, thanks!

Heh, my injury is kinda my fault so I shouldn't complain, besides the fact that my 'touching myself' arm doesn't work any more, but that's digressing from the point!! Cheers guys!

And yeah, sod the mean folk, they can go and sit in the naughty corner and think about what they have done and why they have no friends, nurrr!! :p
