I was looking for some basic tutorials on GIMP when I stumbled onto GIMP Chat. It looks like you guys have a lot to offer here and it's an active community. I recently made the switch from Windows to Linux, so I'm trying to get a good handle on the open source programs that everyone uses for digital illustration and painting. It looks like people use some combination of GIMP, MyPaint, and Inkscape, from what I've read so far. Anyway, I look forward to learning from and getting to you all better.

Hurrah for Pignog!

You will surely enjoy all the nutritious goodness of freely available software without having to hunt for it in the tiger-infested malware jungle that Windows forces us out into. :)

pignog: :welcome - not only to gimp chat, but to the world of wonderful open source programs :). i've tried all of the three you mentioned (tend to use gimp most with inkscape a close second) and i'm still amazed at what those programs can do.

The MK-2 has been built. Should this be the next question?
