Hello all, my name is Jen. I've used an old MacBook Pro, Wacom Intuos 4 and Photoshop CS5.1 for the last... um... five to seven years I guess. Then I broke my stylus. This led to getting a new tablet (Wacom Cintiq), since they don't seem to sell compatible stylus anymore. But the new tablet wasn't compatible with my old MacBook, since it's OS is no longer supported by Apple. So I got a new Apple desktop, but now Photoshop CS5.1 won't work right (there is an annoying offset, where the lines I draw appear several inches from where the stylus tip is positioned on the tablet) and Adobe wants a monthly or yearly subscription to use their products. I don't really need all those programs, nor am I willing to be milked for a service of which I use only a tiny fraction. So I searched for alternatives and stumbled on GIMP. I'm giving it a try, but learning it is frustrating. I'll create another post explaining my current problem.
Nice to meet everyone, and thanks in advance for any help.
