I think some of you people may know me from reddit, and while GIMP is not my main program, I have to use GIMP in conjunction to Krita to get the best out of open source, and acknowledge that there aren't as much filters in Krita than in GIMP, but also know the shortcoming of the two programs. My main workflow is to use GIMP in case I need LCH-based results, and selection (I'm interested into that plugin that solves the issue with the non-working foreground extraction tool), and then work in Krita for its nondestructive editing support (which in a way is hella better than any commercial programs out there(not counting lack of filters problems)).

Hi Reptillian,
Your use of GIMP and Krita,
shows that you're no stranger to raster design.

Welcome to Gimp Chat.

Hi Reptillian, welcome to GC.

As a painter, I have also come to love Krita and often use it in conjunction with Gimp. I remember the days when the Windows version was dreadful and buggy but it has come a really long way very quickly and its non-destructive editing capabilities are awesome! I don't use filters much in painting so that is not a problem but I find Gimp is usually better for final detailing. Using both together works for me as it does for you.
