Gimp Painter 2.8.7 For Windows (64-bit)

Mon Dec 23, 2013 4:29 pm

I compiled a new version of gimp-painter from the git source from 2013-12-23.
It is based on gimp-2.8.7.
There is only the 64bit version online.
The source is also online

My changes:

01. use lcms2 instead of lcms1
02. make also the first script-fu dialog top.
03. change common plugins from vertical to horizontal alignment.
04. change preview size of some plug-ins

I say again: It is just a compile. I will not and cannot maintain gimp-painter.

Thank you Onkel Hatti GimpPainter is fantastic and I'm glad to see it's return to your sourceforge downloads page.
Link for those whom do not know is below↓

There is some discusion on at the moment among us humble Script-fu writers about whether the script-fu.exe plugin could be altered to allow 2 menu columns as it's length puts the lower part of the menu off screen and I'd welcome any input you may have on this or shortening the length of our menu's

Thanks, Guys! This was split from the other Topic.

If the Script-Fu input screen would simply scroll, all the problems would be solved. I can't image that being too much of a deal for the GIMP devs.

Just tried it works great! I noticed mirror canvas option isn't in this build yet thats not a big deal though, rotation works great as well as texture awesome. no canvas distortions build works really great :)!

PhotoComix if you decide to create an Ubuntu build would it be possible to post a deb. file up? It would be very cool to have, I've been messing around with remastersys to make a good portable custom art distro on usb. so far I have Azpainter, Azdrawing,Krita,Mypaint1.1,inkscape,Xara installed in Virtualbox, if possible adding Gimp Painter would be really awesome.

I will but no promise for the time,
Also the only tool i know to use to derive a deb package is checkinstall, that most of time work (in theory may even create package for other distro ) but ...well not always ,it doesn't check so well for dependencies , so at least the package will needs to be tested on somebody else computer.

From previous attempt i will say that most of time will work fine for Ubuntu, and are good chances will work more generically on any Debian.

Anyway don't hold your breath, and again before share i would need to find somebody willing to test.
The good thing is that try seems no risky, or a message pop out when trying to install advising on critical error (usually reporting some missed dependency ) and install abort ,or it just work out of the box

I understand Photocomix I appreciate the kind response,

Another possible way to share for Linux could be Virtual Box similar to Samj's post http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8824&hilit=virtual+box with all the dependencies installed already(Keeping distro size small enough to fit on a dvd around 4gb.used and allow alittle more free space on virtual hardrive to allow room for remastersys to compile it for an iso.) .
*remastersys wiki link*

Of course just exporting a copy of a linux distro with remastersys without even using virtual box is possible and probably smarter.

other art programs are easy enough to add using PPA's and Repository's and deb packages.

Actually a custom community created distro containing the wonderful contributions from everyone on gimpchat would be pretty cool,if possible all the artist, photographers etc. here could contribute backgrounds, slash screens, compiles, plugins, etc. to it. :paint

Of course file size could be large when dealing with distros.

Yes i suppose so but even if i installed long ago yet i didn't find the time to use virtualbox , ..on the other hand i even should reinstall ubuntu (it will not take long , i have the partition ready, anyway i still have to do

But i am busy also because finally now i may integrate Gimpainter with GPS and GimpBrushBox , and this i already done.
And just added the most useful filters, even more useful in this context for the dozens of artistic effect included, i am talking of gmic mathmap, beautify and also reysenthesizer and liquid rescale .

Well i don't want make derail this topic , i will open a new at soon will be ready at least for testing

No. The support for MyPaint brushes is the value of gimp-painter.
The changes you mentioned are my changes to the original code.

It crashes with File>Open recent> chronology
On my PC always crashes and then Win kill it

I have already extra script and plugins, so would be the case to try to replicate on other computer,
again the command is File>Open recent> chronology
