Updated branch 24 hrs ago. Loaded great in Windows 64 bit. A portable unstable version for testing only purposes. Of course.

If you have previously installed a Gimp-2.99.12 version this portable will use existing theme and window profiles for that install. You can get it here if you are interested in testing.

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/branches

Start from the Windows cmd file. (included)

I do not know where Rod's portable version is.

The Gimp devs do make it easy for you, but my take on it.
If you go here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp/-/p ... _schedules. Click on the last pipeline entry for windows installer.

That gets you to here and click on the win-installer-nightly to download a zip file.

The contents of the zip file contains an installer.

Tried in a Win7 VM, 64 bit and it works. I still think it has one of the ugliest UI's of any Gimp.
oops, max three attachments so onto imgur

Many thanks for the effort!
(And hopefully there will be a mid grey theme soon too...)

oh, it is in there, in the usual place Edit -> Preferences and a system theme option + color icons to replace the symbolic ones.

Really?! Great. Can't wait to see it. In 2.99.12 there's only "Compact", "Default" and "System"... None of them i'ld use..

YES! It works and the "Gray" theme is pleasant. I like it.

It states that the pipeline failed but it worked fine for me.

Be sure and unzip it to a folder in C drive. Portables folder or some such name. Create it yourself.
Then open the gimp-w64 folder and run the command file.

I'm trying to see if I can get the GEGL Operations from 2.99 to work on 2.10. So far I got the useful gradient map and the horrible not so useful inpaint filter. But many others will not build.
